History of the Rockford Firm
The Law Office of Jim Black & Associates was established August 1, 2000 as a solo practice law firm at 202 W. State Street, Suite 1000 Rockford, IL 61101. Initially, the Law Office of Jim Black & Associates focused on Illinois Workers' Compensation Claims, Wisconsin Workers' Compensation Claims, Social Security Claims, and Illinois Personal Injury Claims. In January of 2004 intakes for Wisconsin Workers' Compensation Claims were discontinued. Pending Wisconsin Workers' Compensation Claims were brought to completion.
The firm grew rapidly. By the end of 2002 nearly 2500 matters had been opened. The high volume of cases mandated the hiring of Associate Brad Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds joined the firm in December of 2002. In the spring of 2004 another associate was hired as the client base grew to over 4,000 files. Attorney Jason Esmond joined the firm in May of 2009. Tracy Jones began in May of 2006 as a law clerk and then moved into the position of Associate Attorney in November of 2006 after being sworn into the Illinois Bar.
The committed and compassionate staff is dedicated to serving the needs of the injured individual. We represent individuals with workers' compensation claims throughout Northern Illinois with a regular presence in Rockford, DeKalb, Rock Falls, Woodstock, Geneva, Rock Island and Waukegan. Social Security clients are represented throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.
Since opening the firm, the Law Office of Jim Black & Associates has opened over 7500 client matters which has translated into settlements or awards in excess of $50,000,000.
